Did you know that Tim Brown located in Melbourne is a Specialist in Upper Blepharoplasty (upper eyelid reduction) in both men and women?
Upper Blepharoplasty is the commonest procedure I undertake on men. I think it is because having loose skin hanging in front of your eyes. This stops people from making eye contact so easily and gives the impression of tiredness. Now that people are working much later in life, it can be important to look vigilant, even if inside you are really exhausted!
Reducing your upper eyelids can have a beneficial effect on your prescription, particularly if you wear bifocal glasses. For this reason, we recommend waiting at least three months following upper blepharoplasty before visiting your optometrist.
Upper blepharoplasty can attract an MBS item number (and hence health fund approval). This is providing your optometrist can show that the eyelids are obscuring your vision.
The surgery is undertaken as a day procedure, and in most people the worst of the bruising and swelling has resolved within ten days. Sutures are dissolvable, and most people return to work within a week.

Are you able to quote me. Figure on the standard cost of upper eyelid surgery as well as down time information after surgery?
Hi Diane
My apologies, but we seem to have missed your enquiry, as it’s unusual for someone to respond to a blog and we don’t tend to monitor them – our mistake! I have forwarded your enquiry onto Tracey Murphy, our clinical nurse practitioner a Tim Brown Plastic Surgery and asked Tracey to contact you as soon as possible via email to advise you of the cost of this procedure. Obviously given the time since you enquired, you may have already had the procedure done, in which case, you can just ignore Tracey’s email.
In the meantime, you can of course call Tracey at the rooms Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm on 03 8768 500 and you can have a chat with her about the costs, what’s involved and generally answer your questions. She can also email you some specific information.
Kind regards
Gabrielle
